PARAISO & CANAL ZONE TOWNS
Preserving Our Communities in Cyberspace
In Memory
Whenever I think of a place on this earth where people can live in peace without violence, war and destruction, my hometown Paraiso comes to mind. We've all had our experiences that we can remember living on the Canal Zone. So much so, that we could go on for quite sometime and never run out of stories to tell! Paraiso to me is like the motherland, the happiness for all people, the promise of a wonderful life for anyone growing up and wanting to explore life in general. Be it learning how to swim, camping, hunting, fishing, meeting and playing with friends, you name it! In that respect we had it all! And although money is a necessary element, it was as if what we had was sufficient for our happiness!
Although we are many years separated from the days of living on The Canal Zone, the memories are still embedded in our minds and hearts. There hasn't been any length of time that has gone by to this very day that I did not dream about this beautiful town! Is is a spot on earth that Heaven has touched for a moment. I find it quite interesting that such a place was named Paradise! And indeed it was in it's own beautiful way!
There will always be a place in my heart for you...
Did you know that in 1918 Paraiso became a segregated "silver town" then in 1944, it became a Canal Zone town once again? More...

Song dedicated to my mom! It's all about love! I pray that you hit 120 and in great health! Love you!
